Today we have an unusual type of acoustics on tests – soundbar LG SH7B.

In the editorial office he was for two reasons. First – we are frankly tired of looking for a place for classic sets 2.0 and 2.1. Second – we also got a bunch of wires. And if in the case of the computer the problem is not so great-you just need to display an extra half a meter of the countertop and add four more cables to this ball, then in the case of a TV and a projector (as well as the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One), it costs much more acute. The speakers must be hung on the wall and imperceptibly bring the cables to them, and even if we are talking about a system of type 5.1 – this is, if according to the mind, also fuck the walls, and the wallpaper is re -pacing!

We decided to look for the options easier and ordered for the Soundbar test.

LG SH7B

Acoustics supply set is worthy. In a pretty box, we found a lan-wire, an optical cable, instructions, wall mounts, a remote control and columns themselves. The latter in our case two. The first is the soundbar itself, the second is a small subwoofer.

Imagine that in a 42-inch TV someone pulled a strip of a couple of centimeters and beautifully designed it. Introduced? This is SH7b. A long plastic box, covered in front with a metal grate and decorated with silver inserts on the sides. Strict, stylish and, as it turned out, very convenient.

Installation rules

Finding for the soundbar is the right place is easier than for a couple of classic columns. He fits perfectly on the table in front of the monitor, looks harmonious under any TV and even conveniently located under the screen of the projector. It’s easier to hang it on the wall. Pierced four holes with a perforator, screwed two complete brackets and screwed the soundbar to them. And you do not need to buy shelves, and the correct installation angles do not have to calculate.

Perhaps the only thing that is not enough for SH7b is some advanced legs of the legs. If the column is placed on the shelf, then it looks clearly ahead, and not at you. Of course, simple stands can be attached to yourself, on the bottom of the case for this it was as if to deliberately left a lot of technical holes, but I would like to see this in the standard configuration.

But in terms of switching, SH7B bypasses any classic stereopar. Ideally, she needs one wire – thin nutrition, like a laptop. Sources? This is generally a separate song.

Connect

You can do without wires at all and limit yourself to built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The last one here, however, is for a checkmark. The column is able to pick up the home router, but access to it opens only from a computer, phone or tablet, and even then exclusively through the LG Music Flow application. And it does not work very stably, and supports only music services, Google Cast and YouTube. In general, the idea with Wi-Fi, albeit sound, but not very alive.

But Bluetooth does not cause problems at all. It clings to any device, works steadily in an overloaded Wi-Fi-net apartment and, most importantly, copes with films and clips perfectly. We specifically checked – no resinchronization neither with the usual Media Player Classic, nor with YouTube. With https://shiny-joker-casino.co.uk/ games, however, not everything is smooth – the sound is lagging behind the picture. Not so much, but many will annoy many. Exit? Use the wire.

And here the soundbar again puts most classic stereos on the shoulder blades and offers a standard 3.5 mm jack, optical entrance and a pair of hdmi-in/out. That is, if you go the easiest way, then three sources can be connected by wires at once.

However, in the TV-Consol-TV-Setavka-Media-player system, it is much more interesting to do with one cable. The TV can be used as a receiver and connected to it by HDMI all sources, and the sound to the soundbar should be displayed either through one HDMI (TV must support the HDMI CEC/ARE function), or by a more common optics. And if the TV is relatively new, then you can control the volume of the soundbar from the TV panel. Comfortable? Not the same word!

By the way, about the management. On the column itself, right in the center, there is a small display. And from behind, on the left,-power, switching sources, Wi-Fi and the key to connect additional speakers (more than that below). For everything else, there is a small remote control, it is more convenient and more functional. Actually, from it you can choose one of the stops of the equalizer, turn on the Mute mode and independently adjust the frequencies.

About the main thing

Now let's move on to the main thing – sound. There are four speakers in the soundbar itself. Two high and the same amount of medium-frequency. There is a small subwoofer from MDF. It is made interesting. He only needs a food wire, and the sound comes to it through the air. In other words, a submarine can be put anywhere in the room. This does not affect the overall sound of the system, since low frequencies are not determined in the space.

As for the quality of the sound, it can be approached from different sides. With one – a comparable price of a classic stereoPar sounds more abruptly. On the other, this does not mean that Sh7b plays badly. Vice versa.

In films, this acoustics literally explodes the brain and passes fiery greetings to all neighbors on the nearest pair of floors. The soundbar literally turns the room into a small cinema hall. Explosions, purely film “tagging” effects, shootings, deliberately highlighted voices of heroes – all this fills the room and creates an amazing effect, which is very difficult to achieve from ordinary acoustics.

In the games, the impressions are not so bright, but here the question is more likely to sound engineers who obviously lose their movie colleagues. But in games it is much more acutely felt how cool the soundbar positions sounds. It is not possible to determine which side is simply impossible. And if desired, the system can be turned into a full-fledged surround compartment. If you buy a couple of wireless speakers from the Musicflow series (from 3500 rubles apiece), the soundbar will pick them up and will use them as rear speakers. True, for this, the sound will have to be carried through the cable – either by HDMI, or by optics.

And finally – a couple of words about playing music. Here, unfortunately, there is nothing to boast of sh7b. The sound is decent, but there is no question of superode or taking high and medium frequencies for the soul – for the perfect reproduction the soundbar lacks neither the size of the case itself, nor the size of the speakers. In addition, a narrow focus of the column is still imposed, designed for a clearly sitting in the center of the viewer.

This does not spoil the overall impression. The soundbar fully met all expectations. He saves a bunch of places, much easier in installation than ordinary speakers, and, in the case of specifically, our model needs a much smaller number of wires. Our opinion is the perfect option for a home theater and consoles. We recommend.
